Am I in “Civic” engagement?

During the class, we first learn about what is  “civic” and the several examples to become civic. We were able to be civic in many different things.  We become civically engaged through everyday life.     Personally, I did not notice that individual life includes in “civic” engagement but through deep consideration, I was able to understand that the actions we take were part of the society.  Simply think about your everyday life. For example, in many communities or cities have recycling bins that provide us to separate recyclables and get them recycled by putting them out at curbside when the city picks up RCL. Or remember the time when in your elementary school about the pledge of allegiance, the act by ritual repetition than by actual words. We repeat the acts from certain special celebration and take a nice break. You do not need to be engaged in “special” or activates, but ordinary life in yourself can explain you are one of the “civic” member.                                                                                                                    If you like to Facebook that can be part of civic engagement, watching news, reading newspaper or be part of the organization can be civic engagement. Beyond the morality and ethnicity, all human beings can be part of civic duty. People tend to think civic engagement as “large” movement such as political engagement or economical decision for a country. However, civic engagement can be “small” but also affect the society. How do we decide the president? We use voting to select the president from our hands. Every single person might see as a small civic engagement but our ordinary life can shape the country’s culture and society.  We live in the large organization called “Country” and we are accustomed to live in the society, influencing us to civic life.

RCL: Whats are some ideas for Passion Blog?

My first idea will be about the entertainments in Comics,  Games and Animations from many different cultures. Many countries were able to make entertainments into innovated and creative products to show others.  I am very deeply interested in the world of animation and the history, which I am very passion about. For example, United States of America was able to make the first significant animation movie from Disney, using Mickey Mouse during the 1940s and gave significant impact to the global world that animation industries can have a bright future.  I am also interested in Games such as  Japanese Games that permeate into everyday people's life such as Mario, PlayStation, and others that we all familiar in. Based on my experience from many different cultures’ CGA (Comics, Games, Animation) like USA, Japan, Korea and etc, I am very excited to make deep analyses on many different topics from CGA and write their significances on the time period, ideas and their meaning. Plus, the blog will analyze how these CGA  can give cultural influences, be one of the significant histories of the country and also give a sense of identity to describe the country.

My second idea will be about international relations and global issues. Human History made several horrible events that caused tragedy, losing many people’s lives. However human also made appeasement and agreements to bring peace for bright future. I love history and global politics that I am also major in international relations(political science). To this reason, I am very passionate about how certain civilizations created causes and effects that led to devastating events or brought diplomatic agreements that alleviate hatred or avoid downfall for many different countries. The blog will significantly analyze the causes and effects of certain events from the past and present. Furthermore, it will explain detail information about the critical reasons why these certain events  occurred (whether is inevitable or not) and how these events impacted on the human society.
