People are animals where they wanted to become more "efficient" through the process, desiring for greater advance and connivance. In the past, cell phones were recognized as "public usage," however, the time and technology make "shifts" in phones, changing phones into mobile usages that everybody can put their phones in their pocket. The changes in technologies not always become successful, many technologies were forbidden (lost technology) and forgotten. The changes in technologies in the phone do not simply change cellphones into a smartphone but also changed the human's life and society. To this extent, (thesis) the shift in technology in "phones" was able to change sophisticatedly in human history, by becoming more progressive through communication and engagement on the Internet all around the world.
In my Essay, I will discuss how the changes in cell phones to Smartphone extremely impact the society of human. From this point, I will mention things how communication transfer much faster than before, using the example of "the internet" and "Game industry." Media is a source where people can receive information in the society, and people were able to engage these media through the internet (through internet news, articles, etc.), which smartphones were able to expand the possibility to touch the internet frequently. This concludes the points that people are becoming more communicative and familiar with the situation of the society, making people into "digital citizen." Plus, it also opened the mind of people that games can be synchronized with phones that changed the ideological view of "phones" where it usually focused on texting and calling. However, I will mention the counter-arguments that the reliability of smartphone is becoming too big which changed the people's life negatively, using the fact that with-out smartphones people feel uncomfortable in business, school, and with relationships with others due to fewer devices and communication. This will be explained by comparing the cell phone (old) and smartphone (new), showing the shift in people's daily life and how it negatively followed (relying too much on technology).
In the end, I am going to round up that shift of technology (phones) is indeed a positive movement, changing people ideology of understanding technology in phones. Shift makes the new society, and new norms that smartphone and the human became one, but also reminds the positive changes can make different adjustments referred as negative.

Allan, while I think you have a workable topic, I think you need to pick a single aspect of the "cell phone movement" and explain how it has shifted the view of society. You also mention the positive and negatives effects of cell phone usage, but you should not be concerned with whether the effects are indeed positive or negative. Rather, you should focus on how there was a change, regardless of whether it was positive or not. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have plenty of content for this topic, without question, but don't forget what Mrs Kramer said about breadth of dialogue. Cell phone technology has a lot to cover, so I would suggest honing in on one specific aspect of it. You mentioned several aspects in this blog post already.
ReplyDeleteAs the previous comment mentioned, this is a very broad and in depth topic. I would try to focus your writing on the cell phone and how it changed a specific area in our culture such as our ability to communicate or how it helped change industry and business.
ReplyDeleteAllan, you have a great basis for a topic, and like your peer commenters, I also encourage you to focus and narrow your approach. Hone in on one specific aspect instead of tackling everything that surrounds its shift.
ReplyDeleteFor example, you might pick one aspect -- like how we retrieve our information. We used to memorize facts, but now we don't as much because we're always able to access this information from wherever we are in the world.
Of course, you don't have to do this specific angle that I mentioned as an example, but it shows how you might narrow your broad topic to something a bit more manageable.
I hope this helps!
